How Kinonicle works
One family record. Many careful contributors.
Kinonicle combines an understandable private family tree with the stewardship needed to keep it accurate, contextual and ready to hand on.
From names to living record
Five steps the whole family can understand.
- 01
Start or import
Begin with close relatives or bring in an existing GEDCOM. Kinonicle keeps the source context and helps you check familiar branches before inviting anyone.
- 02
Explore the family
Move through large branches, focus on one person and ask how any two relatives are connected without losing the surrounding tree.
- 03
Invite relatives
Each family member signs in with their own invited email. They can browse the private record and suggest what is missing.
- 04
Review together
A family steward compares every suggestion with the current record before accepting it. The history of important changes remains visible.
- 05
Keep it portable
Add photographs, notes, places and sources, then keep an independent GEDCOM export so the family is never dependent on one service.
The trust boundary
Private, reviewed and portable.
Suggestions are welcomed without turning the tree into an unmoderated wiki.
GEDCOM export keeps an independent family copy within reach.
Common questions
Before you begin.
Is a Kinonicle family tree public?
No. Family spaces require individual access and are excluded from search engines. Public pages explain the product; they do not expose family records.
Can I import an existing tree?
Yes. Kinonicle supports GEDCOM import and export. Always keep an untouched copy of the source file and review information about living people before uploading it.
Can relatives edit anything they want?
Relatives propose additions and corrections. A family steward reviews each change before it enters the trusted record.
Who owns the family record?
The family remains responsible for its information and can export the maintained genealogy. Kinonicle does not sell family data or use it for advertising.
